New Fun-Size Tactical Optic: EOTech’s Super Short Vudu 4-12x36 Scope
High-end optic manufacturer EOTech has a new short kid on the block that’s ready to dominate in tactical spaces: the 7.1-inch super short Vudu 4-12x36 scope.
The first-focal-plane optic shares many similarities with the popular Vudu 3-9x32, which was introduced in 2025. We’ve had that glass on the range for testing, and it’s nothing short – pun intended – of wildly impressive.
Now offering a 4-12x magnification in a package that is just 0.3 inches longer, the company’s Vudu 4-12x36 is ideal for tactical carbines and modern sporting rifles. Constructed from light aircraft-grade aluminum, the 16.9-ounce optic features a wide power band on the eyepiece for rapid magnification changes.
The Vudu 4-12x36 boasts 0.1 MRAD turret adjustments with 10 illumination brightness settings. It runs on CR2032 batteries, giving it around 300 hours of operation time. XC high-density, low-dispersion, multi-coated lenses provide great light transmission and clarity.
EOTech cut length partly by adding its own mounting interface, reducing the tube space normally needed for traditional scope rings. The machined interface at the base is compatible with all aftermarket mini-ACOG mounts and fits directly to mil-standard rails.
There’s also an option for a ring mount to run non-magnified mini red dots on top of the optic’s tube, either at the 12 o'clock position or at 45-degree offsets. (Image: EOTech)
