Federal Ammunition has a slew of new products on tap for 2026, from suppressor-friendly gun cases to subsonic rifle ammo to commemorative editions for America’s 250th birthday. Here’s a rundown of what to look for from Federal this year.
 

Federal Fit Line
 

On top of a ton of new ammunition offerings for 2026, Federal launched a new line of gun and suppressor cases, with everything you need to store and protect your firearms and cans. Heat-shield linings at the muzzle of the Federal Fit cases protect against hot suppressors, so you can stow your rifle without waiting for the can to cool. A separate suppressor case doubles as a heat-resistant glove so you can use it to remove the suppressor and store it.
 

RIFLE AMMO

As demand for subsonic ammunition grows amidst booming suppressor sales, we’re pleased to see Federal amping up its catalog. Federal Subsonic features four cartridge options built for two things: peak noise reduction and effective low-velocity expansion.

Boxes are black with orange Subsonic branding for instant recognition, and each of the four chamberings comes packed in 20-round boxes:

• .30-30 Win / 170-gr Fusion
• .45-70 Gov’t / 300-gr Fusion
• .308 Win / 190-gr Fusion Tipped
• .300 Blackout / 190-gr 
   

The Federal Premium Terminal Ascent line also adds two new loads: 6.5mm PRC 140-grain and .300 RUM 175-grain. These bonded-construction nickel-plated bullets feature high ballistic coefficients, and Federal’s patented Slipstream polymer tip enhances expansion.
 
The extended-range Berger Elite Hunter line gets a new 7mm PRC 195-grain load, and in 6mm ARC, there are three new offerings: American Eagle TMJ 110-grain, Fusion Tipped 110-grain, and Gold Medal Berger BT Target 108-grain.
 
Federal has also partnered with Henry on some limited-edition commemorative ammunition for Henry’s 250th anniversary U.S.A. edition of its iconic Golden Boy lever-action centerfire rifle. The Federal’s Golden Boy Collector’s Edition will be offered in .45-70 Gov't 300-grain JSP.
 

Handgun Ammo

In Federal Punch Personal Defense, a new 9mm 115-grain load broadens the options in this affordable self-defense line. New loads for the handgun hunters include Power-Shok 10mm 200-grain and .45 Long Colt 235-grain, but the headliner here is the new Federal Premium Terminal Ascent line.

This new product line caught our attention immediately, as will happen for hardcore handgun hunters. Terminal Ascent is already revered among rifle hunters for its centerfire performance on big and longer-range game. Terminal Ascent Handgun, meanwhile, is debuting in three offerings. 

It features a bonded, nickel-plated bullet design that essentially locks the jacket to the lead core. The goal is increasing weight retention, while an elastomer-filled nose cavity aids in reliable expansion. A sealed primer helps ensure reliability in all conditions. The launch is solid, but already we’re hoping for two things: shipment well in advance of this fall’s hunting seasons, and more offerings coming next year. All three chamberings ship in 20-count boxes:

• .44 Rem Mag / 235-gr
   

Shotshells

With more than 25 new shotshell offerings for 2026, Federal has something for every style of shotgun shooter. 

For duck hunters, the new Rob Roberts Raptor waterfowl loads are optimized to extract the tightest, most efficient patterns from Rob Roberts Raptor Series chokes. The new loads are 2-3/4-inch, 12-gauge, 1-3/8-ounce, 1400-fps in 2, 3, or 4 shot; and 3-inch, 20-gauge, 1-ounce, 1,400-fps in 2, 3, or 4 shot.

For your spring gobbler hunting seasons, Federal has partnered with Realtree to celebrate the camouflage company’s 40th anniversary. Five turkey loads will be offered in commemorative packaging, including two Grand Slam lead loads (3-inch 12-gauge and 20-gauge in No. 5 shot). The Realtree 40th Anniversary Special Edition will also include three Heavyweight TSS loads: 3-inch 12-gauge, 20-gauge, and 410-bore in No. 9 shot.
 

Though the name is familiar, All-American is a fresh product line for Federal in 2026, with 12 trap and skeet loads launching simultaneously in 12 and 20 gauge. The one-piece Podium wad is customized for straight-wall hulls, while the wad’s compression zone protects the payload at ignition. 

High-antimony load shot offers a balance of hardness and density to break distant clays, resist deformation, and maintain effective patterns. Eleven 12-gauge loads range from 1-ounce to 1.125-ounce filled with #7.5, 8, or 9 shot. A pair of 20-gauge loads will use .875 ounce of either #7.5 or #8 shot. 

For competition shooters, there's a new Action Shotgun Rifled Slug with rigid hulls to improve cycling through both tube and magazine-fed shotguns. Federal’s TruBall system uses a polymer sphere nested in the base of the slug to center the projectile as it travels down the barrel for the best accuracy through smoothbores. The sole load available at launch will be a 2.75-inch 12-gauge shell stocked with a 1-ounce rifled slug moving at 1,300 fps. The goal is ample knockdown power with manageable recoil. Action Shotgun Rifled Slug comes in 25-count boxes. 
 

AMERICA’s 250th Birthday

Finally, several Federal product lines will feature limited-edition special packaging for the country’s 250th birthday this year. Look for American Eagle, Top Gun, and Champion loads packaged in collectible patriotic designs commemorating America’s 250th anniversary.
