Still Coming Soon: SNT Defense Semi-Auto K2 and More
Korean firearms manufacturer SNT Defense, formerly known as SNT Motiv, has been working to bring several unique platforms to the U.S. market, and company reps were on hand to show us some prototypes at SHOT Show 2026.
K2S
The K2S is a semi-auto version of the 1970s Daewoo K2 Korean military rifle. The company had hoped to release the American-made K2S platform by the end of 2025, but we’re told the design has been stalled due to government regulations.

Although it’s hard to nail down an MSRP this early in production, SNT is aiming for the $1,500-$1,700 range for these rifles. If all goes according to plan, the rifles should release later this year.
STRV9
The STRV9 is a unique 9mm revolver developed for Korean police and designed to fire less-lethal rounds The tactical-looking revolver fires less-lethal rounds at about a 10th of the power of a regular 9mm round, so the less-lethal rounds only penetrate about 2.5 inches.
This unique 9mm revolver was designed to shoot non-lethal rounds but can also fire regular 9mm ammo as well as blanks.
The STRV9 has a titanium cylinder with reinforced alloy frame and barrel, and it can shoot regular 9mm rounds as well as blanks in addition to the less-lethal rounds. The revolver features a safety, not often seen on U.S. designs, and a tactical rail for adding a light or laser.
STSM21
Release of the STSM21 is a little farther out, but SNT hopes to make it available to American buyers in 2027.
For the PCC fans out there (and there are a lot of us), the STSM21 is a delayed blowback system with a non-reciprocating, reversible charging handle and a minimalist MCX-style stock. It uses proprietary mags but the company will be working to improve magazine compatibility for this platform. SNT plans to make the STSM21available to American buyers in 2027.
