Stopbox debuted a new gun storage lockbox at SHOT Show 2026. The U-Can uses the same mechanical locking mechanism as the company’s other firearm storage products but puts it on a sturdy “ammo can”-type box for transporting your firearms, ammo, and accessories to and from the range. 
 

I have several Stopbox products all over my house. These lockboxes don’t require batteries, are very fast to access, and are affordable. Stopbox products address all the major shortcomings of most other firearms storage devices. First, the mechanical locking system doesn’t require batteries that always drain at the worst times or house power, which will not be there in worst-case scenarios. 

Secondly, dialing combination locks take too much time. When you need your firearm, you NEED your firearm. Finally, firearms for home defense need to be in all the places you spend your time. If your security device cost too much, it’s more difficult to afford staging multiple guns across your home. 
 

The U-Can puts all this technology on a larger box for you to store more of your gear. It’s designed to be taken to the range, but I can see many uses for a large lockable case that doesn’t need power or a key. 

The U-Can will be available around mid-February for approximately $150, although the final price has not been set.
