Browning Shows BAR Mk4, Lefty XB2, Shotgun Line Expansions
Browning’s booth at SHOT Show is always a hot spot where walls of shotguns, rifles, and pistols attract throngs of visitors. For 2026, we found fourth-generation BAR semi-automatic hunting rifles, left-handed variants of last year’s hot X-Bolt 2 bolt guns, and several additions to both O/U and repeating shotguns. Here’s what we know after spending some time with the newbies.
BAR Mk4
Browning’s popular autoloading line of BAR rifles shifts into its fourth iteration for 2026. Eight variants of the BAR Mk4 were on display, including four left-handed selections.

The Mk4 shows several noteworthy differences. First is a redesigned barrel-to-receiver interface, with the button-rifled barrel threaded into the receiver. The gas piston design remains, with an integrated buffer to reduce wear. Exterior lines shift to a more angular modern ergonomic along with a more vertical pistol grip. The tagline now becomes “autoloader speed and bolt-action accuracy backed by magnum power.”
With an extensive catalogue of chamberings, the BAR Mk4 should remain popular.
Chamberings are extensive, from .243 Win to .300 Win Mag. BAR Mk4 models come in camo and Cerakote, nickel and walnut, plus more basic black composite furniture and everything in between. A limited-edition Mk4 Medallion America shows Grade III walnut against a nickel receiver with a high-relief 250th anniversary American flag engraving.
Perhaps the most beautiful was this commemorative 250th Anniversary edition.
Southpaw X-Bolt 2 Rifles
Southpaws rejoice!
Browning’s extensive X-Bolt 2 family of bolt action rifles took SHOT by storm a year ago, and now the company is adding a hearty group of left-handed variants. Southpaw hunters will have a choice of six models: Speed, Hunter Composite, Speed SPR, Speed LR, Hunter, and Medallion. Those designs use the same features as their right-handed counterparts, but with a redesigned receiver and bolt.
In addition to the lefties, Browning announced it will be chambering five existing models in two hot young rounds: .22 Creedmoor and .25 Creedmoor.
825 O/Us Expand into Sub-Gauges
The 825 Citori lineup is expanding with smaller gauges.
Every shotgunner is familiar with Browning’s Citori line of over-under shotguns. Following the advent of the 825 Citori in 2025, the family continues expanding with the introduction of 825 Citori Small Gauges (20-gauge, 28-gauge, and 410 bores). The young Small Gauges will be found on two lines: the 825 Sporting and the Field.
Both offer extensive selections in all three gauges, each with a 3-inch chamber. The new 825 Citori Small Gauges in both Sporting and Field will cover the needs of discerning clay shooters alongside upland hunters. The same features driving the full-size 825 Citoris carry over, including a low-profile receiver, modern styling, Fire Lite 2 mechanical trigger, enhanced controls, and an Invector-DS choke tube system.
Buck mark Celebrates US 250th B-Day
This Buck Mark is sure to please the most all those looking forward to a patriotic summer of plinking.
One of the most eye-catching commemorative pistols in all of SHOT Show 2026 has to be Browning’s patriotic Buck Mark 250 Freedom Vision. This limited-edition autoloading pistol marks 250 years of American freedom with a waving flag machining theme and striking red, white, and blue G-10 grips. The .22 LR-chambered number wears a 5-inch threaded Vision barrel and a gold trigger, and it feeds from a 10-round single-stack magazine.
