SilencerCo S98 Brings Quick Detach Suppressor to Pistols
If you are looking for a QD 9mm pistol suppressor that looks sleek, keeps your sights and optics unimpeded, and performs well, SilencerCo wants to talk to you about the new S98.
We-- like thousands-- had to stop by the SiCo booth at SHOT last week and, in addition to sweet new(ish) products like the Spectre 9K and nearly indestructible Scythe STM, though the S98 was the big story this year from one of America's favorite can makers.
The S98 is an eccentric, titanium, and full-welded suppressor designed for 9mm handguns. Because it’s eccentric-- like SiCo's Osprey-- the bore sits below the shooter’s line of sight for a clean look without needing suppressor-height sights.
The QD device simply attaches to any 1/2x28 TPI threaded pistol barrel, then you are are good to go.
The company says they are getting 130.3 dB average from it in testing. (Photos: Chris Eger/Guns.com)
The S98 is 5.64 inches long, weighs 7 ounces, is sealed construction with a Type II anodized finish, and ships with a 1/2 x 28 QD Mount.
With a little practice, you can get super fast with the S98, like a 2.6-second Bill Drill fast, starting with an unattached suppressor and unloaded pistol on the table.
SiCo also hit a vibe with their minifigs and taxidermy this year, which were among the most grammed images from the show.
