European American Armory continues to expand its cost-effective and dependable Girsan Witness 2311 series with the introduction of the new CMX series in multiple sizes and calibers, which replaces the traditional grip safety with a more contemporary alternative.

We have previously reviewed the company's optics-ready, Girsan-manufactured EAA Witness 2311 Match series 9mm pistols. These firearms are equipped with numerous features and have demonstrated reliability and accuracy during testing. They present an affordable option for those seeking to enter the double-stack 1911/2011 market and require a firearm that delivers as promised.

On display last week at SHOT Show, the latest Witness 2311 CMX continues this tradition, now featuring an integrated firing pin block safety for enhanced drop safety, while eliminating the rear beavertail grip safety to reduce bulk at the back of the grip. The frame-mounted manual safety lever remains standard, consistent with its single-action design.

EAA CMX
Among its key features, this Commander-length model includes a 4.5-inch bull barrel (as opposed to the 5-inch barrel found in Government-length variants), a double-stack 17+1 capacity 2011-pattern magazine in 9mm format, a precision-tuned trigger with an advertised maximum pull weight of 4.5 pounds, a full-length dust cover with Picatinny accessory rail, and a direct-milled RMSc footprint optics cut situated between removable 3-dot sights.
EAA CMXX
The company also has the new CMXX, which will be available in 9mm, .45 ACP, and 10mm Auto.
EAA CMXXX
The CMXX series are all compensated guns.
EAA CMXXX
And this little officer-length guy is the Brat-framed CMXXX, which will be released later this year. Sans grip safety (disregard the display model), it will have an internal drop safety and still be optics-ready with a 17+1 round magazine capacity.

The new Witness 2311 CMX has an MSRP of $1,229 and is covered by EAA's lifetime warranty.
